Road Cycling - LeMond Buenos Aires or Bianchi Giro

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am considering purchasing one of these bikes, would appreciate input on either of these. The Buenos Aires rides a little better, the Giro is a little lighter. Thanks in advance.

Well Lemond is built in the U.S. and the Bianchi for North America are built in Taiwan. I have lemonds in my stable and love them. I have friends who have Bianchis and they are nice bikes. If you get a Bianchi be sure to get the version built in Italy (the real deal).

Hi,
when you say it rides better; could you tell us a bit more what you mean by that? Based on just that much; it seems that you are saying the BA fits better....if so, that's your bike.

Late,
I don't think it fits any better, its just seems like you don't feel evey pebble in the road. It is hard to compare bikes on a short "demo" ride. Different roads, quickie bike set up, tire pressures, etc. LBS that sells LeMond has just put his remaining stock on sale at 20% off so i think I will go with LM. Thanks.

Hey!
You're in Yarmouth! I am in Falmouth. Hope to see you around. Ever try the Iced Mocha shake at Mr Bagel in Yarmouth? I love that place.

Cool,
here's one of my favorite rides. From Mr Bagel, turn right up the hill. At the stop sign turn right. Go through Cumberlan, and take a left onto Blackstrap Rd. Follow that to Mountain Rd. There are a couple ways back to Yarmouth from there, the back way, Rte 1 (I like that stretch of Rte 1) and of course 88. I start in Falmouth, of course, and stop at Mr bagel :D for that iced coffee that's really a shake. I then head North to Cumberland. The Lighthouse Loop is another good one, wonderful in the spring, and the best for going fast.

I have a Bianchi Vigorelli. It isnt Italian made,,,,,,,,, so I guess it's not a real Bianchi. ???????????????????????? anyway,,,,, I rode an aluminum framed Trek prior to it, for several hundred miles. My Bianchi feels like a dream compared to aluminum. I think it is a matter of preference between Bianchi and Lemond. Both are great. Both ride great. Get the bike that fits the best, with the most componentry for the money. You cant go wrong either way.
