Recumbent - Recumbent for adaptive cycling

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My wife has MS and is not in great physical shape. I run and ride quite a lot. I'm looking for something that can help her get more active and hopefully that we could do together. Is there a recumbent solution? Perhaps a trike that would have enhanced stability? Is there a tandem arrangement for bikers of unequal strength?
Thanks for any help here.

Look at the threads "Biking without arms". The suggestions could apply here too.
Basically:
– A handcycle would work for her if she has good arm strength. But even with powerful arms, hills remain a challenge.
– A traditional tandem works great for bikers of unequal strength. As long as she is stable and can spin the legs (or let you spin them), she is OK. By "stability", I mean that she needs to be able to stay upright; no need to keep the bike upright, because that's your job. If she has still legs, she might need something like the DaVinci Independent Coasting System.
– A tandem tricycle such as the Greenspeed will work even if she needs time to sit on the bike.

Thanks Michael. I'll do the research on these options.
