Bask in it's glory. The ultimate take-it-anywhere, do-almost-anything, bicycle. Century ride, no problem. Single-track, bring it on. Get some groceries, load it up. Going on vacation, break it down. Kaah-chaaah!

Here's the thread where I detail my solution for mounting the gripshift. Click Me (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=375641)
Cool.
How do the drops effect the fold?

Not at all, at least there is no parts interference that affects the normal folding of the bike. The overall package is somewhat increased though, because when folded, the drops protrude where the flat bar did not. For me, that is not an issue.

Grip shift on drop bars = sin. :D That SRAM 3.0 isn't worth saving. I'd give some serious thought to picking up an 8-speed bar-end shifter.
Oh, and ditch the reflector, they're kind of worthless. Find a red blinky you can mount on the rack (should be easy) and a white blinky for the front.

No problem, show me an indexed bar end that will shift an SRAM rear der and I'll use it.
That looks pretty cool, but what's the purpose of using the drop bars? To help it fold down better, could you make the drop bars smaller?

I like having more than one hand position. It still folds like it did before so there's really no incentive for me to go looking for some kind of specialty bar. Snagging used parts from the LBS, I have about $20 invested in this conversion.
When you were planning the swap, did you give the Speed Pro TT bars any thought?

I didn't really, I'd hate to see the price tag on something I can accomplish with a hack saw. It's funny really, on some of my bikes I like drops and on some I like the old flop-and-chop. I did consider the Nashbar TT bar and some cane creek TT levers, but decided I'd go this route first.
