I'm moving to Maine this year, and would like to try and participate in a triathlon. Does anyone know of a good wetsuit for swimming in very cold water?

I am no expert in the field but am an experienced diver and to my knowledge Tri wetsuits aren't one thickness throughout the whole suit. I think they are generally thicker in the legs and skinnier in the shoulder area for greater upper body movement, the thickest they come are 5mm which should keep you plenty warm and buoyant.
Hope this helps!

If it's too cold for a standard tri wetsuit, they won't run the race.
In one tri I did (middle of the summer, go figure), my feet and hands were painfully cold - particularly faffing about in the water before the start - but everything under rubber was perfectly warm.
