Unfortunately, my projected cross country trip, planned for this summer, has been postponed to May 2009. Too many things to do in too little time for a 2008 ride.

Now I need to make plans to challenge myself for 2008. :-(

Thats a pity:( Hope you've no trouble keeping your focus now that the trip is gone. I couldn't tell from your post but is it that *you* are too busy? well thats a good bad thing if you get me;-)

Bummer, I was looking forward to reading about your journey.

If it's not an equipment issue maybe you could take a week of vacation and head south for a practice "mini" tour.

It's an everything issue. :-)

Everything issues are great, aren't they? :) That was essentially my 2007, so I can feel your pain.

Hope it all works out for you, my good man, and remember that you don't have to go anywhere to keep inspiring people.

Ah, my role in life, the Tiny Tim of Cycling. :-)

More like Tiny Tim mixed with Lance Armstrong, and a heavy dose of whoop-ass! :D

Keep at it, my good man, and it's very good to see after my hiatus that you are still around.

Do what you can. Take a week or three and do a challenging tour.

Not a disappointment - merely aligning yourself for more favorable conditions :)

You should come out for the NY Century ride and/or the Montauk(s) ride.

Sorry to hear of the cancellation, but look to become better and a fine 2009.

You 2 Neils could consider Tour de Cure. ;)

Just gives us another year to happily anticipate :) .

I know that we all wish you the best in working out the 'everything' issues.

Neil, I did a cross country trip in 1990 and promised myself I would do it again, only better. I was going to shoot for 2000, but that didn't happen. So many things get in the way of a long trip. I have, however, gone for several short trips including a wonderful 5 day tour in May 2007. Try to squeeze in some short trips, they're great, too.

I couldn't agree more,, short trips are fun as well. They are logistically simpler as well. ;)

Sometimes the realities of life get in the way of our dreams. :-( Use the extra year to get super prepared for your coast to coast! Another year to get more conditioned & acquire equipment for your 2009 journey! Use this year to put in big miles and test out your gear.

Lotsa things come into play on a tour of that magnitude. Just wait till the time is right............
