I'm so proud! Someone brought in donuts this morning and I was actually able to walk by them without grabbing one or two of them. Maybe there is hope for my weight loss yet!!! :D

::gnash, grit, grr::

I am currently staring at this box of candy - this one woman brings in everyday that's sold for her kids high school ... and my leetle blop of oatmeal is not working this morning ... <looks at teeny Clemantine> ... sigh - but I've been good too.

More power to us! :D

It's tough this time of year with extreme inclement weather coupled with tons of extra calorie fat laden food lying around. Diet is very critical this time of year as the amount of calories burned is probably substantially less than non winter months. Diet is the best tool to keep it off, when there isn't enough exercise to help out.

What I want to know, is how someone with a stable LowCel has could possibly have problems with weight. How could anyone possibly need more motivation?

So how much are you trying to lose?

I need to lose around 50lbs, ideally if I could lose 80 I would be almost perfect.

It's easy, I had two months that I couldn't ride due to a death in the family and having to remodel a house to get it ready to sell. On top of that factor in having two jobs. Now add in the fact that I still ate the same as I did when I was riding nearly every day. Once all is said and done I gained 20 pounds!

I would like to get back down to around 170 pounds. I need to lose another 22.5 pounds to get there. I'm hoping to be under 180 by mid February when race season starts then lose the rest of the weight by April. I'm trying to set realistic goals.

This will be much easier than when I went from 220 pounds to 168 pounds.

Your situation reminds me that i've finally discovered the weakness of one of my crappy co-workers around here...

She absolutely cannot resist Ferrero Rocher chocolates:

http://www.ferrerochocolatesusa.com/

:D

Someone (may or may not have been me... ) put out a box for the department for christmas and i swear she was grabbing 2 of those things everytime she walked by. And this is from someone always claiming to be trying some new diet or working on losing weight. Ha! :D

Needless to say, the box of 24 (or more?) was nearly empty by lunchtime and i had only eaten one.

I think the fact that she doesn't exercise makes up for that. :D

Dieting is a verb. People who diet, fail. A true diet is a noun. People with a diet often find themselves lean and mean.

Hurrah for LowCel's power of resistance :) .

Doughnuts...ummm...carbohydrates.

Chocolate is irresistible, especially if it is Cadbury's. It's in my genes, I can't resist.

Tomorrow try a can of water packed tuna fish (and a couple whole wheat crackers if you need them). I find a little hot sauce helps.

An interesting article:

I'm not sure that LowCel would be able to handle water packed tuna anyway. If I remember correctly, LowCel is a fellow migraineur, and I seem to recall that water packed tuna has MSG, unless they've gotten away from that lately.

Yeah, I'm a fellow migraineur and I have been doing pretty well lately. I know it sounds crazy, but I swear this magnetic necklace is actually helping. :o

You never know...even if it's just psychological, the brain works in strange ways. It's like with anti-depressants, what works perfectly for one person is a train wreck for another. Who's to say?

Now, if only someone could invent that anti-carbohydrate necklace which repels all doughnuts within twenty feet of the wearer :p .

Yes. We have a Dunkin Donuts now. Krispy Kreme can keep their puffs of fried air. But let me pass a Dunkin Donuts without stopping. It prolly won't happen.

Chocolate glazed with coconut sprinkles? My Lord, I just put on 6 pounds thinking about those babies.

Did decent for dinner, had a couple of lean pockets after I got home from spin class. I did slip up and eat some chips and some Duck's green tomato pepper butter (http://www.thebikegame.com/home/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=113&Itemid=32)though. :o

I haven't had one in a while, but I do eat them when the fancy strikes me. Except replace the words: "the fancy stikes me" with "I feel like sitting on the toilet until my legs fall asleep."

I actually did pretty good most of the weekend. For dinner Friday I had lean pockets once again..yumm... Saturday morning I had oatmeal, then before my ride I had a pb&j sandwich. For dinner I had a pork chop and some peas. Sunday morning was oatmeal again, then a pb&j sandwich before I jumped on the bike. I slipped for dinner though, Sunday's we usually have a post-ride meal at the Mexican restaurant so I had fajitas.

Today started out good. I had oatmeal with Salba seeds (http://www.salbausa.com/) for breakfast. I did slip at lunch though and had some pizza. Oh well, can't be perfect I guess.

It's too bad they don't make healthy versions of donuts. They're just so tasty. But I haven't had one in nearly a year. They're just about as unhealthy as a type of food can be.

This place isn't getting any easier. Two days in a row now people have brought in brownies. They look so freaking good! I don't know how long I'm going to make it. I did survive yesterday but today is another day.

I'm setting here watching everyone eating brownies while I'm here eating my tasty breakfast consisting of plain oatmeal, ground cinnamon, protein powder, salba, and peanut butter. This sucks!!!

On a side note, I'm down about 8 pounds since 12/26. :D
