to any RobRoy owners

what is the largest size tire you have put on ????

I want to get a set of marathon plus 38's and was wondering if they will fit before I fork out the dough, I will be running no fenders

According to IRO, the rob roy can take 35s without fenders and 32s with fenders. I wouldn't buy anything larger, at least not until you have the frame and can judge for yourself.

Marathon Pluses run big; I highly doubt they'll fit.

i run 35s and it looks like i have plenty of room to go larger if i wanted. i think the site's estimates are somewhat conservative.

that being said i'd agree with the above that i wouldn't risk it unless returning/eating the cost of the tires isn't a big deal.

hey dirtyphotons, you think there might be room for the 35's and fenders? you have pic of your bike with the 35's on anywhere

actually i have run 35s with fenders, so it's definitely possible. of course every manufacturer has its own definition of a 35mm tire, but i believe these were some cheapo performance ones:

fenders are planet bike speedez and they work great. they rattled like all get-out with the rack on there though.

yeah sweeeeet bike,almost exactly the way I am building mine up...damn I like the blue, I wish we could have gotten that color on the group buy

but for 160 for a RR I would ride any color

I have a set of the planet bike fenders too.....they rattled all last year and this year when I put them on I took zip ties and lashed everything down...rattles all gone

good lookin out, i'll remember that if i re-commuterize the rob roy. these days it's all stripped down to a race and trails machine at which it performs equally admirably. i love that bike.
