Southeast - Anyone in miami ride ?

I live in the palmetto bay area (i usually ride out the kendall area). My road bike got stolen probably by a bum, BUT i just got my new fixed gear and im stoked to start riding again. SO if anyone in the area wants to ride that'd be cool. I need to find some riding spots, routes, whatever.

*Please keep in mind this is just for fun, and to meet new people.
Im a 20yr old full time student and part time employee at a Medical billing clerk office. Routine is boring so i want something to do over the weekend. I'm not looking for a race, or a 50 mile cycling event (atleast not yet)!!

There's a group that meets at the old Parrot Jungle location, Pinecrest Gardens, and take off from their and head South to Black Point Marina then to another marina located a bit South of Black Point. They meet at about 7:30 am.

Hey man i see you got a fixed . Um well i ride with my group here on bike shop on Bird road (40 st SW and 87 av) on sunday mornings @ 7am sharp .The ride goes to key biscayne and back to bike shop. We start as 1 big group but after 10 miles we take off . group A rides 23-30 the whole way , Group B 16-22 . im on a cheap ass fixed Windsor "The Hour" track bike its red with black velocity wheels. Holler if you see me !
did you put a brake on yours ? i had to put on a brake myself , guys where nervous about me riding brakeless in a group .

That sounds like an excellent ride. Do you all head straight through Bird Road to the Grove? What's the route more or less?

That sounds awesome. Do you do this every sunday? Keep me updated next time you guys do the ride maybe ill attend just to see how far i can get. I'm really out of shape i haven't been on a bike in awhile, but its worth a try.

that sounds like a cool ride. My and my cousin rode this weekend from Westchester (79th and Coral Way) to Key Biscayne (7-eleven store) and back. I was on a Specialized Rockhopper/him on a Trek FX 7.3. Took us about 1hr 10min to get there (about 16 miles). Not bad considering we took some back roads and its only our 4th weekend riding again.

I was in that bike shop on 40th and 87th last week looking around. Looking for an entry level road bike as my MTB isn't really built for rides of 30+ miles :)

While routeslip.com was a great resource, it's been replaced by mapmyride.com and mapmyrun.com just as good, but may have some newer and additional routes for you to choose from. Just have to try different city names as they file by zip code and city name, if the wrong one was entered, its still shown as that.

Hey, cool to see such an active miami group on this forum! I have some friends that ride in that area, and you're also welcome to join our critical mass rides. Check out the homepage at criticalmass.meetup.com/40 . Also check out my signature and see if that's something you're interested in. All in all, we're commuters who go EVERYWHERE on bike and want to law to change for us.
