BMX - What bike do ya ride?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i ride a 99 diamondback skindog
Yeah! go the diamond backs!!! But the diamond back mountain bikes suck.
Diamondback??? Sorry if I sound rude but Diamondbacks are pretty poor made bikes. I guess if your a beginner its ok, but a Diamondback Viper was my first BMX, and I absolutely hated it. It broke real soon. I now ride a Fatboy Vegas Specialized which is designed and ridden by TJ Laven. I got the Vegas TRX though not the Gold Edition. I fixed it up with some Casino street tires, 4-piece handle-bars, bar-ends and some new grips. I mostly ride street so I also got two Primo pegs. I soooo want a Standard, 2-hip, or a Terrible One. Those are by far the best. Mongoose, Redline & Diamondbacks are the low-end bikes, but hey, as long as you get to ride!

2001 GT Power 3.0
Currently ride a first generation Mutiny frame. In the past I've had an ELF, then a Trailboss, broke it, got it warrented, bought an old style STA frame, then traded the Trailboss for my Mutiny. Main reason I quit riding the STA is because it was to damn long. I'm 5'8", so a 21" bike is just to long :/

I have a 98 Haro Zippo. It's an awesome bike, and it only costs around 300, I messed it up a lot but it still rides clean. Haro has some of the best freestyle bikes on the market. Their parts are very reliable and can take a ton of damage. I dont really understand NyQuist's bike though its so heavy, probably the same weight as a flatland :)

i also HAD a Diamond Back Viper and it sux hard it broke fast by brake cables are all messed up my brakes are messed up the bike is heavy as h*** so it pretty much sux i dont recommend anyone getting it. :-)
I recommend a gt or haro.... they are bikes that dont cost that much and i am pretty sure they will last.
Yea, ok bud your a little wrong there, DIAMONDBACKS have a few nice bikes, although I dont like their 2001 lineup in particular.. their fester has terrible brakes. But I ride a Diamondback Venom XX, well I did, I'm pickin up a 2000 Diamondback Fiend soon. Anyway, its a little bit heavy, but I've never had any sort of trouble with it, so ya.. you mighta had a bad experience, but everyone at one point has some sort of bad experience with one bike, and it usually makes them not like the company that made it.. oh well.

I ride street and dirt. I have a '98 powerlite spitfire with S&M slam bars, hoffman stem and fork, poverty 3pc. cranks, redline aluminum pedals, schwinn chainwheel, and BFR,s.
A lot of people think that a spitfire shouldn't be used for street and dirt jumping but it is hella strong.

This might sound dumb, but here's a solution. Take a small piece of scrap metal. Very carefully tack weld it onto the pedal threads without hitting the crank. Then, start twisting yer scrap metal. Out comes the chunk of crap!

I can not stop myself. Friends tell me it must be difficult to wake up and decide which bike to ride. My main bike a Klein Quantum Pro. Just bought a new tour bike. A Fuji Touring bike. Have a very old Nishiki Sport, a hybrid can be used for off road which I rarely do. My starter road bike. A Scott 520-94 model. I maintain it is great shape to take on plane trips or commute on. Some people collect cars. Just have to keep my bikes.
