Good evening eveyone,

Does anyone remember what length spokes should be used for this combo?

Im respoking my winter wheels: low flange Suntour VX's (120mm rear spacing) with Weinmann Concaves 27- 1 1/4.

Many years ago my cousin laced these wheels 4x with chromed steel DB sopkes. I want to respoke them 3x with SS DB spokes. They have miles on them and there are no fewer than 3 kinds of spokes in there now.

Im taking them to Lickton's tomorrow and we are going to "see what fits".

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The usual recommendation is to follow the original spoking pattern once a hub has been built up. In this case you should stick with 4x and then you can use the current spokes as a guide for length.

Otherwise, Licktons is going to have to do a lot of measurements and calculations and, from my experience there, the counter guys aren't the most cordial or sociable people I've ever met. ;)

I checked Damon Rinard's Spokcalc on Sheldon Brown's web site and neither your hub or rim shows up in the data base. The only 120 mm Sun Tour hub shown is a high flange track hub and there are two Weinmann 27" rims but neither is your model name. This stuff must be OLD!

Yes, the parts are old but they still work.
I remember putting them together in '79 or '80 and some of the parts were was used back then!
The problem I have with 4x is that the spokes bend over the head of the spoke next to them.
