Hi, I am very new at this stuff and was wondering if anybody has ever tried to use a 70 mm bottom bracket in a 68 mm bottom bracket shell on the frame... Both are English Threaded... I was thinking it would work out when I bought the Dura-Ace bottom bracket but now I am nervous (frame is arriving soon)... Thanks for any help...

It won't work. Just buy the correct part.

I have a 70mm Dura-Ace bottom bracket, Octalink (model 7703), one of the lightest bb's in production (so I hear) and I need a 68mm Octalink bottom bracket (hopefully also the Dura-Ace)... Let me know

Right. I've never heard of a 70 mm English bottom bracket.

In the very unlikely event it really is both English and 70mm you can get a 2 mm spacer to fill the gap.

There are 73 mm English threaded bottom brackets but they are intended for MTB use.
