Yeah, that would fit her bike easier in the back, but no motor or tranny! VV may have been looking for something like this

Ha! Hey, Foo-son! Thanks for keeping your eyes open for me! :) If it were closer it might actually be tempting, heh, but I do have a beater Accord that's still doin' me well after nearly 112K miles. :) And its value is only 2.5x that of this car with no motor or tranny!

SS, I gotta say, my ol' Vega looks better from photobucket than as a thumbnail. Good times in that car, oh, yes! :D

I remember clearly, trying to have one in the back of an old firebird. That was kinda fun. :D

True dat. That back seat was plenty big with the buckets moved up and the backs leaning forward. Only downside was it would have been awfully hard to explain that set-up to a passin' cop. Especially with steamed up windows! :D But, as I said, we had imagination back then, and knew where to put that puppy in "Park." ;)

Yeah, I chalk that up mostly to the alum block. Mine used to overheat out the wazoo, especially during the hot NC summers. Nearly cost me my life once when the engine shut off while I was turning left onto a major highway. Bein' as it was an automatic, I had to come to a stop, throw it in park, and try to get it to start again -- and FAST! Luckily it did, and had enough kick so that I could shoot straight across the highway instead, barely escapin' the path of an 18-wheeler comin' down a hill! Chevy eventually figured alum blocks out....

The original Powerglide tranny in mine was replaced by a Turbohydromatic, by the way. One smooth little ride, I must say.... And not bad for an essentially free vehicle. :)
