Foo - Married men of foo...How many tubs do you have?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Totes/tubs: How many of these do you have in your house?

Before I was married I'd never even heard of one. Now my life IS one. My life is a series of moving these tubs from room to room on this occasion and on that occasion. I think my wife heard that the woman that fills her house up with tubs first wins. We are presently scouring the internet looking for a tub to put our house in. Granted she is super organized and all of these are in the attic (thanks to my broken back) or in the storage room, but holy schnikes!
What is it with the ladies and the tubs?

Ugh, my wife has none, they are all mine. I am an organized pack rack and have all kinds of computer parts and various other electronics item stored in a basement storage closet in tubes. They were in boxes until a flood ruined the boxes.

I dunno, Portis. I never had those when I was single or married. Um. What are they used for? I mean, what kinds of things are used to fill them up?

I'm not married, but have a ton myself. How do you organize your stuff that you don't leave "out"? Do you just throw it in your closet floor and let it stack up and collect dust?
I've probably got more than a dozen.

Hm.... I think I'd rather load 'em up with several gallons of 7-alarm chili or individually-wrapped steaks, and put 'em in a large freezer for future use. :D

I am not married, but have been living with my SO for 2 years now and we have quite a few of the tubs. Maybe 15 or so.

I use them for bike parts. They're also useful for things like all the Christmas ornaments to go back in the attic.
The closet in my wife's bathroom was an unholy mess. Need a band-aid? good luck finding one. How about another tube of toothpaste? An aspirin? Yeh, dig through all those cosmetics, rollers, and other feminine products jammed in on the top. Now one tub for first aid, one for medicines, etc. It's all good.

OMG, I'm finally finishing up our hardwood floor project, only one closet left. I just pulled 4 of those out, not even sure what's in them. There's more where those came from too.
Married men of foo...How many tubs do you have?Just one, and she wouldn't appreciate you calling her a tub.

Just a damn glorified cardboard box. We have at least a couple dozen.

True, but worth the glorification. They don't rot and fall apart after a few years, collect the dust that cardboard collects, damp and/or actual water can't seep in and ruin contents, less likely to collect silverfish and other insects that migrate to cardboard boxes, etc...

I don't know just how many, but it exceeds 25! Most of them have yarn and craft stuff for the wife, I have 4 I use for bike parts, etc, + I have the shed. ;)
Maybe i didn't have any before i was married because i didn't have any stuff? :D

All my hopes and dreams are under the cover of Rubbermaid Roughneck boxes stacked in the basement.
For 3.99 a pop, they are better than the old beer cases and cardboard boxes I used to use. Back in my salad days, those hopes and dreams used to sag underneath the weight of rotting cardboard. Now I know they are safe and stackable in their reinforced plastic hideaways.

I had to take a close look through the house, but never spotted any. Unless Mr. East Hill is hiding one in his 'den', but I don't think so.

Me too. Got one full of stems and bars, another full of cranks and chainwheels, another with still useable tires and tubes.
They are in every room of our house. All shapes and sizes, it is quite remarkable.

We have lots. Camping gear, cycling gear, various other sports equipment.... All ours are in the garage though.
I pulled over 30 of the big ones down from the attic when we had our last garage sale. There were still several up there.

We had a few, soon after getting married. Nothing all that impressive...
...then we had a few kids and HOLY PETE, these things multiply exponentially in direct relation to the number of children in the house.
number of kids = 3 = http://home.swbell.net/mcpoop//MMACH_5/images/eq0072M.gif = 475 tubs
I actually think i have an empty one or two in the attic. Lots around the house.

I call bull malarkey on your math there.
3 != -1 != 475 :p

We've got at least a dozen of them. It's a combination of ones that were mine and ones that were hers before we moved in together.

Have a few. Would have more but the wife hates them because I get more organized and can fit more bike stuff in our place.
I’m offended, I live in a tub! :p Just kidding.
I estimate we have around 30-40 tub's. Why I actual voted I don’t know because your poll sux’s lame plastic wads.

About a dozen or so out in the storage space we rent but only one actually in the house, and that one sits empty in my BoB trailer when it's not being used to haul stuff around.
