I did a quick search and couldn't find anything on these, anyone using them and what do you think about them? I am going to place an order w/ Nashbar and they have the 700x30 on sale for $10. I mainly ride on converted railroads lines which is hardpack dirt, a little gravel, some sand and a bit of blacktop.

I've heard they're perfectly fine in terms of performance but that they wear out fairly quickly. In fact I may have read some people experienced losing knobs, but I'm not sure.
20 bucks for a pair of tires? What could it hurt to try them?

I use them and like them. They are usually fairly cheap to begin with, but 10 dollars is fairly good.
They will be perfect for what you describe. For muddy conditions or singletrack, there are better, but
for the riding you describe, should be great tires for the price.

I suppose it can't to try them out at that price. My Specialized Tri Cross tires (remember those?) have definitely seen better days!

Came stock on my bike and the center tread did seem to wear fast.

I bought these when I built my Redline. I have them on OP's and I love them. All my buds got them also. You may find that 30's are a bit limiting in the less firm footings (32's better) but the 30's are great. They run fast on pavement when the trails are not passable and road riding is in order.
I recommend them after 400 miles on them.
