I remember there was some talk earlier last year about some dirtbag trying to hurt mountain bikers on the trails. Well here is a story of a guy that was busted in Fullerton. Anyone have any direct injury as a result of these boobie-traps?

- that's pretty evil...

- and certainly more dangerous than the moron who was seeding tacks along the GW trail outside DC in Virginia in order to mess up bike commuters...

(this was from Koffee Brown: the rangers ended up using a magnetic 'sweeper' to pick up tacks every day)...

I have hit a few ruts and gone over the bars a few times while mtn biking in Fullerton, but unfortunately this guy wasn't to blame. I hate those bad cases of the loose nut behind the bar. :p

You too? Man, when you figure out that problem, post something. That one nut behind the bars makes me lose it so many times.

Very similar to the oil that was poured on Mulholland from the overlook all the way down to the Rock Store about 2 years ago. I went down in the first turn as a result. Fortunately, I was wearing a kevlar motoport suit and stopped before crossing the center line.

I am a peaceful man, but that old bugger deserves a sock in the face.

The Fullerton Loop is a joke anyways. It's about time someone put some real obstacles in it.

A couple of years ago I was the victim of trail sabotage. Someone placed a very large branch across the trail at the bottom of a dip in a trail that everyone takes with speed. It is hard to see the location until you are right on it. I busted a helmet and suffered bruised ribs and some serious road rash.

On my very first organized ride, which started in Santa Monica, south to Redondo Beach, there was this idiot who laid a bed of tacks on the strand. I started early enough to avoid it, but I can just imagine how many flatted, and wonder how many were seriously injured by this tactic. The guy in the story could have killed someone.

Apparently there's someone in Chinatown who has been stealing the lights off of locked up bicycles, too.

To me, that's the equivalent of stealing someone's seatbelt from their car.
