Since I was buying a lot of my bike parts through the internet, my LBS has been getting pretty mad at me. They install all the parts for free (I've bought three $1,500+ bikes from them), but they want me to buy all the parts from them. I proposed an offer- if I find an item that's cheaper online, then they'll match the price as long as I have the listing and the listing is not from eBay.
Since I want to upgrade my bars for a while, I've decided to test if they'll keep their word. However, I wanna kick their asses on the price. :D
Where can I find the lowest price on xXx Lite Bars? They can be flat or riser, I don't care. I think the flats are about 70g lighter though....

I'm not that stupid. Google and Google Products came up with no (relevant) results.

Wow. Your LBS is being very nice. I would have told you to install your own damn internet parts by now. And then you'd get some dirty looks on your way out.

They <3 me at the LBS. I just checked the receipt, they gave my parents a $250 discount on my Christmas present. :D
My LBS is asking $180 (MSRP).
If they are installing parts you bought on the web for free, crap, I would pay what they are asking. If you do happen to find it on the web (which I doubt you will, I have seen practically no Bontrager stuff on the web) and go in and ask for that price, you are a dick. Be happy with what they have done for you, and don't wear out your welcome.
My opinion.

I've also bought multiple $G's worth of schwag from them. Besides, they only deal low-end stuff. For everything that's above the equivalent of Deore, you have to order it and it takes 2+ weeks. And most of the stuff I buy, they don't deal anyway.... IE Selle Italia and Maverick....
But if it angers to intraweb for me trying to save money, I'll pay the damn $30 extra. :D

Yeah, what's your point? Cause you've shopped with this lbs, you expect to be treated like royalty. I have customer who have bought $5K+ from me, and if they were to bring in parts they bought on the web, I would still charge them labor. I'm just saying, don't wear out your welcome.
Oh and by the way, your shop can order Maverick and Selle Italia.

I asked them, they said they needed to be dealers to order Maverick and Selle Italia. If they lied, I don't know why they would.
And don't think I don't support my LBS. I buy most of my parts from them. In faaaaaact, I just ordered a couple rebuild kits for my Eggbeaters, two sets of two spikes for my SIDI's, and a Crank Bros. 19-M. They told me it's going to take around 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. So, I only intra-order the parts I can't get within a reasonable (when I need it) time or at all.
Spoiler- I am royalty. Silly.

That sucks, they lied to you.

That sucks, they lied to you.
Why wouldn't they want my business?
Inb4 you lied, i see wut u did thar b4 u even thout i wuz nowing it
Also, the shop owner is kinda.... slow/too lazy to check the catalogue. Maybe this is the explanation? As a side note, I never asked for them to give me free service. They just put parts on, and when I ask how much it'll cost me after its done they say "It's free!" Occasionally with this face. ^__^ One day they just told me I needed to pay up from then on. =/
EDIT- Screw this. I challenge you to a death match to determine who's right.

most of what you said.
People who think they "deserve" freebies from a bike shop should get a swift kick in the butt.

so far, i've bought almost nothing from my LBS except the occasional tubes and cables. But installation of parts i bought from other sources has always been free..i feel bad sometimes..
I buy lots of parts and things from my lbs. I also buy parts from the interwebs.
I get them to install the stuff i can't, or if i'm feeling lazy ill give them a couple of extra dollars to do it.
Oh, wait, you have to get you lbs to "install" bars?

..wow this thread is awesome...
My shops won't install parts for me if I bought them someone else. Then again, I install 90% of the items myself. Really cheap then
