Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If you do, do you find when set to "Cycling" the calorie function is very low for your work out. It told me that after riding 65 miles using 3 Spinnervals videos and partially completing the CTS Hill CLimbing that I only used 1900 calories. That seems kinda low. When I'm 6'4" and 185 pounds

I am not sure, but compared to other exercises, I believe that cycling burns less calories even though you cover the same distance. The bicycle is the most efficient transport system that uses the least energy for any distance travelled. You are a pretty big guy, and you will indeed burn more calories. I am not sure how much more though. Those calories counter can only be used as a rough estimate though, I never take them too seriously and only use them as a guide as to how much exercise I have got in a week.

I use it as a guide as well. The thing is my HRM is telling me 1900 calories and 2 different web sites that use duration, and speed gave me 3300+.
