I just came along an immaculate Manitou FS (newer style) with a rather interesting shock mount. The rear shock is a threaded coil-sprung with a piggy back reservoir. The odd thing is that the rearmost shock mount is not a standard bolt-through design. There is actually a machined metal plate that is attached onto the end of the shock. The metal plate is an adapter from the end of the shock body to two bolts on the wider rear triangle. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of how to get a mounting bracket to upgrade the rear shock to an air-sprung Fox Float RP23.

I'll get my own pics of the mount, but I did find a member of MTBR that had found a solution. http://www.mtbr.com/reviews/Frameset/product_21375.shtml

The poster mentions a CNC'd part that did the job, but it was from a German company called "RESET". Googled it to no avail. Has anyone heard of this company?

I could have a friend machine it in the States, but if RESET has already done measurements and has a program written for it, that'd take a lot of the work out of my end of things.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I was searching the web for the same answer you were looking for. I have a Manitou FS with the rear shock you mention (I beleive it was the third and last generation shock they mounted in the bike) originally I had the "thermo like" elastomer shock, changed it for the elastomer/spring shock combo -didn´t work both of them- and again changed it for the coil spring/piggybag shock. Years ago I saw the add and found the link to the german company RESET, but I lost it in one of those nasty computer crashes. I´m now lookink to rebuild my Manitou and I´m searching for the RESET mount (or similar). Did you get to find it?

I´ll appreciate any help you can give me,
Best regards
