Exotic coffee. I think I'll stick with my regular brew.

I've tried it. They were sampling it at Wild Oats. So I tried it. I'll try about anything. Anyway, it wasn't anything special. Just a funky tasting coffee.

Nothing special. They have been selling different poop flavored coffee for years.

Years ago I hearing about a bean that passed through a certain monkey that was sold for high bucks too.

Now when they start serving a coffee called Soylent Green that'll surley be a little different.

We had civet cats in our back yard when I lived in indonesia. No coffee beans though. So what? All sorts of funky things are eaten when you think about it...hot dogs!

Interestingly enough, much of the Kopi Luwak sold is fake. And there is a company in Vietnam that sells flavored coffee beans guaranteed to taste like Kopi Luwak but without the expense. They call it Brown Weasel coffee.

I actually did have some real Kopi Luwak at Coffeefest in Seattle a few years ago. It tasted not dissimilar to some of the aged Sumatra coffees that I have in my green bean stash. I did not think it was anything remarkable. Feeding raw coffee cherries to my cat and then sifting the litter box did not produce the desired result.

I still want to try it once to at least say I've tried it and see if there is need for the "hoopla". I remember somebody (on here) once saying that he and his wife bought a cup at a local coffee shop once (for like $12/cup). I recall hearing that it had the body of coffee with cream (very smooth/rich) all by itself.

I have other things to try. Plus, the roast of these beans is light to preserve the oils or whatever...I like darker roasted coffee.

Actually, all kidding aside, I've heard that is probably the cleanest coffee you will ever buy because of its origin. Knowing its origin its meticulously cleaned, where as normal coffee cherries, may not be nearly as rigorously cleaned. Regular ones may not have cat poop residue, but they'll have dirt residue if not cleaned well.

Well, I don't think I'll be trying it anytime soon, cleaning up after my cat has kinda put me off.

I have heard that it's good to the last dropping though ;)
