Hello:

I need some wheels to outfit a Surly Long Haul Trucker for short tours (loaded but under ten days) and commuting. I'm seeing affordable wheelsets with Shimano LX or XT and Mavic A119 or A319 for sale on-line ($180 [for the XT/A319/36h] and down to $130 [with LX, A319, 32 h]) including shipping). I don't want to spend too much on a wheelset I'll be using around town (wheel theft) but I'd likely upgrade for an extended tour.

Any thoughts here?

119 vs 319?
XT vs LX?
32 vs. 36?

What's sufficient for shorter loaded tours?

Most of these are being sold on Ebay by Rocky Mountain Cyclery. Any experience with this or similar dealers?

LX/319/36 will be plenty bombproof to go just about anywhere.
