SPAR is the same day. Not a big ride but probably warmer than N. GA.

Stupid newbie question, what do people do for security for the bike at stops? Can imagine bike disappearing while I am in the portajohn.

You will be within reach of you bike at stops, so there should not be a problem. Don't worry about the cows, they don't ride yet.
