Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Sunday's ride (uphill...both ways.

Well, we got some snow last night (around 4 inches) and it was 32 degrees. I haven't gotten much riding in as of late and wanted to get out. I didn't go far or for very long. It was only about 30 minutes. I had to peddle the down hills, hence the up hill both ways. It was nice to get out and ride, let me know some items I might need for my next ride in the snow. Here's a pic of the road I went on, it is paved underneath. That skinny tire on the left of the photo belong's to me.

Where was the road, dbikingman? I agree with TS that it's a beautiful photo. Lovely and serene, I can just hear the snow under my tyres there.

East Hill

I was thinking about getting some cyclocross tires for my bike so I can play in the snow.

Well, with my brief experience I would recommend having studded tires. I rode in the snow because I had better traction. On car tire track there was less residence but I tended to slid more. Also, as a side note when trying to stand and pedal, the back wheel would spin without my weight on it.

It was fun and enjoyable. I just need to figure out what to get such as I mentioned studded tires, I have a "cheapie" MTB, bike I may convert to my snow rider. Then I have to work on winterizing it properly.

I think I see a deer hiding behind one of those trees.
