I need a new seatpost binder bolt for my old Mondonico. The old one is Sugino, and it fits a 7-mm hole. Campagnolo bolts require an 8 mm hole, and I'm reluctant to drill it out. Several Suginos I've seen lately have been too long and have a tang for securing the fixed end, but my seat lugs do not have a notch to fit a tang.

Are there different campy bolts, or anyone know a source for Sugino bolts?

It is very easy to dremel the key off the keyed Sugino bolt. I've done it with great success.

Can't you just go to the hardware store? Perhaps I am fortunate but the only hardware store in town (Do-It Center) has a wonderful selection of metric hardware. I just got back from getting two bolts for my bike, 8¢ each

Yes, i've been doing this, but even stainless bolts have a tendency to seize up after a while. Besides, I'm in the middle of dressing up the bike, and trying to eliminate some of the non-original fixes I've done over the years, such as using capscrews or hex bolts.

Is this what you need? I'm actually using a campy on my steel Cuevas frame

+1 A Dremel or a file will make short work of the tab. A couple of washers under the head of the bolt should take care of the length issue unless it's much too long.

Thanks, gents, and yes I even have one of those, and access to a dremel. But I thought Sugino has one with a splined end.
