Hey guys, I am going to buy a bike next spring I believe. I am getting a mid-level hardtail and have narrowed it down to a few. Kona Caldera, Iron Horse Rogue, Rocky Mtn. Stratos and Elevation, GF Big Sur. I could also buy my brothers Trek (between 6700-8500, not quite sure) for 200 cuz he needs some money. What do you guys think I should do? Any other bikes to look at?

what type of riding do you plan to do? are you planning to race or just ride for recreation? what condition is your brother's bike in and how hard did he ride it?

I ride mostly cross country trails in the area. Once in a while me and the guys do some urban stuff. He doesnt have much time to ride so it is in really good shape.
