I have an instep trailer and a wsd trek bike. The problem is that the coupling for the trailer doesn't fit properly in the rear fork of the bike. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Is your rear fork to small for the clamp?
no. The piece that holds the coupling in place is too small for the opening on the rear fork where the wheel fits in -- I'm sure there is a technical term for that C shaped part. The result is that the coupling piece can slip around
