As the title says, I've been getting back into cycling in a more serious way. Started mt. biking last year, which is a kick, but also doing some road cycling again. A big motivator is that my soon-to-be 17 yo son has (finally!) got the cycling bug, after my buying and fixing up a $30 Peugot road bike for him last year. He connected with road cycling in a way that he never did with the various BMX and Mt. Bikes he owns. I got him a huge upgrade last spring, and myself one a few weeks ago.
It has been fantastic to discover this thing that I love that we can do together. He's a natural athlete, with major-league soccer quads and conditioning, so it is more than I can manage to even keep up with him - but that is a joy in itself. I'm sure you parents will understand that one.
