It's 52 degrees right now in Brooklyn, NY. Tomorrow is forecasted to reach a high of 60 (partly sunny, too!). The rest of the week will avg in the high 40s.

Doesn't anyone remember a January like this??? If my memory serves me correctly, I was shivering in my toes last year with temperatures closer to 0 F.

This is the Northeast, mind you.

Three weeks ago we saw one of the worst ice storms ever for here. New year's weekend highs were in the 20s and low 30s. Yesterday was 74. Beat the old record high by 6 degrees.

Last week here in Houston it was in the the mid to low 40's. Today it's going to get up to the low 70's. Great biking weather if you like pedaling into a 14 MPH headwind. Gives the gears a great workout.

We went from 7 degrees last week to 60 yesterday and today here in Chicago. I have no complaints other than my backyard is like a swamp from all the snow melting so quickly.

This is really messed up. I went running in a t shirt and shorts yesterday. I thought this was the La Nina year that was supposed to mean heavy snow. Today I might even go run without a shirt.

I'm no scientist, but if this is not a direct result of climate change, I'd really like to know what's causing it.

Back in 73 the January temps were shirtsleeve in Northern Indiana for most of the month. Lake Wawasee never froze over.It CAN get this warm normally.

Thank for the insight, Tom! I honestly began to think that this might be a result of climate change.

Its normal here....

which means anything. The only time we notice any climate change is in the summer when the snow line is non-existent. When I first moved here you could always see glacier cap and snow at the tops of the mountains...now it just doesn't exist...

At any given time I expect rain, 10inches of snow, sunlight and bikinis with a side topping of kokanee...:D

It's hurting me. I love the snow. I want to ski. but all the snow is going bye-bye. Good thing that the resorts have made 3-4 feet of ICE and that's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Hopefully, it'll get really, really cold soon. and bring some more snow.

There's plenty of snow piling up in the PNW and the Sierras this year

Well we (pnw) are getting record snow for sure, it just doesn't last long on top once the summer hits. I haven't noticed an actually "winter" affect. It just means I can go biking on the alpine without the ill affect of riding in glacier snow
