how very boring
I like it - very understated and retro looking with the black shorts.
I wonder if they'll have a few more sponsers on it by summertime.

With todays new fangled fibers black jerseys really arent that hot.

Hopefully the real ones won't be that hideous.

it's not the materials, but the color that make black jerseys hot.

Botto with that logic light color jerseys would reflect body heat back towards your body making you hot as well. :)
So either way (light or dark) it shouldnt matter.

Incorrect. Your body heat isn't radiating off you in the visible light spectrum.

does it have to be visible to reflect?
Infrared reflects as well, but who cares, black is hot.

That is one of the most amateurish (sp?) looking jerseys i have ever seen. Was it created by an 8 year old?

Black clothing absorbs sunlight and the heat from your body. White clothing reflects sunlight and reflects body heat back to you. There are tons of humans that live in the desert wearing black robes/head dresses that dont seem to mind the color. You would think that after thousands of years they would have figured out the best color to wear as well.

didnt powermeters prove that to be a cycling myth like spinning smooth pedal strokes, rotating weight, and stretching?

I don't get the hate. This time last year it would have been pink-white-black with those lovely adidas stripes. Marked improvement IMO.

And tons who don't.
There's some hard scientific data for ya.

I must say, some of the team kits are so appalling that I was actually reluctant to click on the thread. What's that tell you?

My point is that just because clothing is reflective in the visible spectrum (i.e. white), doesn't mean it reflects or absorbs IR light any differently from black clothing.
In the end, black clothing is hotter on a sunny day than white. I've experienced this many times skiing and mountaineering in black vs. light colored clothing.

Some "modernists" are pushing for them to be able to ride their own bicycles someday. Who'd a thought?

Dude...natives to sun scorched areas (i.e. deserts) wear black clothing to absorb and keep warmth until the night comes, since cold temperatures are a given when the sun sets in the desert, plus they are much more adapted to the heat than you and I, cold...not so much. And I'm sure after thousands of years, they've had time to figure that out.
