Mountain Biking - Finally Built a Snow Bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well I finally got around to building a snow bike. Not much else to say really so heres a pic (pretty crappy pic since I seem to have miss-placed my good camera:o):

If you have any questions about how its built or anything just ask and I'll try and answer them.
PS action shots won't be for awhile seeing as diplomas are next week so I won't have much free time.

That is very cool. How does it handle?
Nice! I have my pieces downstairs and too many other things going on this week. Good job! Wow, those are perfect size skis - - did you have them or pick 'em up at a ski swap? Mine are kids skis but not that small so I'm going to have to trim them.

Not gonna lie it's pretty sketchy to say the least, But fun none the less. Once I actually get to try it out a couple more times I think I'll be able to get the hang of it. Just fish-tails quite a bit.

Truth is I just got lucky. Me and a friend went to a used sporting goods store and found them for pretty cheap. I think there just really small snow blades which is sweet cause they are double tipped so I can ride backwards once I get good enough.

Awesome, just think of how it would handle if you could incorporate a few short shocks! I think you'd get a little more leaning stability if you had two skis in the back. Looks fun :D

A downhill ski with a good edge on it(ski cut to a shorter length of course)might give you more bite for cornering.I imagine those snow boards don't have much of an edge on them.Being as they are probably for kids(beginners).

They look like they are trick skis. So they should have a pretty good decent edge on them.

I don't think you would be able to get a good edge with them
