Hi all,
I am looking at buying a mountain bike, and need some help.
I'm an old BMX'er (like 25 years ago...) who weighs 245#. I was very hard on bikes back in the day, (when I was a mere 225#) stretching chains, stripping gearsets, breaking cranks and frames, etc... I do not jump, and will mostly be doing fire trails and moderate to easy terrain, but will be putting a lot of force on the running gear.
The bike I am looking at fits into my price range, and seems to have some fairly good equipment. But I need to know if ya'll think this will work for me:
Specialized FSR Enduro Sport 4 link
Rock Shox Judy XC fork,
Fox Vanilla rear shock
Shimano Deore XT running gear
Avid V brakes
Front wheel is a Rolf Satellite 26 x 2.1 with a Rolf hub (doesn't look like it has enough spokes!)
Rear wheel is a Mavic x221 with a Shimano XT hub.
Everything looks good, the bike has been rode lots but is fairly tight. It feels like an extensionI can get this one for $300, or a Rocky Mountain Soul hardtail with entry level equipment for $450. Any thoughts???
