Utility Cycling - Would this work?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I feel more comfortable asking this here than some of the other forums.
I've a '83 Schwinn Continental, black with gold pinstripe. It has no fenders. (I am the original owner). I also have a nice set of "ruby red" fenders with white pinstripe. I'm considering installing them on the bike as is. Would that look ok? Or should I go ahead and paint them a nice glossy black, sans pinstriping?
Try the "personal taste and aesthetics" subforum. Just kidding, I think they would look neat if you painted that white pinstripe gold. Don't be scared of doing a pinstripe, I bet it will be less work than painting the fenders completely and the results will be better. Or just rock them as is, this forum is about utility, and color doesn't add to that.

Maybe some pinstriping tape instead of paint? It would be easier to undo, if need be.
Doesn't your Continental have the quick-release on the front wheel? Putting fenders on there will prevent you from being able to use the quick-release. I guess it depends on how often you're planning on removing the front wheel.
Also, make sure you have enough clearance around your center-pull brakes.
Put one on and see how it looks.
