What's the rides like near Red Rock Resort? I'll be there for a Saturday morning ride but was wondering if riders have a regular starting point. Road bike. Also, what's the weather conditions, what to expect?

Got back from Red Rock Resort. I saw the other posts on Red Rock back around Thanksgiving 2007. Great pictures. The big thing is January weather. Coming from So Calif, it was really cold at 7 am. I started out from Red Rock Resort and continued west on Charleston and ended up at highway 160 and turned around. Even though it was cold, the scenery is spectacular. Sunday was very windy and I didn't ride. Monday morning I rode just a bit before checking out of the Resort.
By the way during the off season, the Red Rock Resort (4.5 star rating) is a nice place to stay. Around 160 a night. Weekdays breakfast buffet only $7.99. Next visit, I'll do that 13 mile loop. I hear the Visitor's Center is going to be renovated in 2008.
I was looking on the Google Earth map and there's a road going diagonal NW, the North Ranch Drive (95). There's two canyon roads that seem to make a loop: Kyle Canyon Road (157) and Lee Canyon Road (158). Any Las Vegas riders know about this loop?
