Mark Kruger and Vince Jarmer have left the PPB's Traffic Division (http://bikeportland.org/2008/01/08/captain-and-kruger-no-longer-at-traffic-division/). :) :) :)

Good that theses folks won't be in the traffic division but there's a big wtf in regard to Kruger (Portland's most rotten cop) being promoted to Captain.
Is there a head scratching smiley that isn't smiling ?

I think he's perfectly suited to the Drugs & Vice Division.

good news for portland bicyclists! I didn't read the link yet, but was it Kruger's mishandling of bicycle accident reporting part of the reason for his reasignment?
And Donna, on an unrelated note, is there going to be a 2008 Bunny on a Bike ride?
I'm thinking of riding down that way again for my second annual...

Related to Kruger's reassignment/promotion, I think, is this bit of good news just released. Evidently, PPB is lowering the threshold for investigating crashes involving cyclists.

Definitely good news. What's ironic is that the cyclist who was hit is one of the most super-critical, anti-police kind of people of my acquaintance. I'm relieved that he's ok, but I also hope this gave him something to think about.
