yeah, i'm thinking this might not be the best forum for this sort of question, and if so, please point me in the rright direction.

besides, it is a fix that i'm fixin' to paint...

anyway, is autopaint good for bicycle frames? I have a friend who is taking an auto-body course, and he can paint it up in his shop right quick; all i'd pay for is the paint. (the friend is a bike mechanic, too, so worries about him screwing up the threads in the bb shell, etc are unfounded.)

basically, i have a colour in mind from a car, and i want a paint job that shall last for a verrrrry long time. (i kinda hope to grow old with my bicycle.)

any thoughts?

tia,

I've been using autopaint on my frame, make sure you use primer, do two or three coats of paint, take the shine off between layers with steel wool, couple of coats clear lacquer will give you a shinier and harder surface. Normal autopaint can be quite easy to scratch off, so if you want it longlasting lacquer is a must.
