Road Cycling - 2003 Masi Gran Corsa or 2003 Trek 2300?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Any input?
Both bike are priced about the same at 1700 and 1750 respectively.
The 2300 has Bontrager Race Lite wheels and the Masi has Mavic Cosmos. Both are full Ultegra
Thanks!

Do the Trek. I think you will get a much better frame out of the deal.
I have heard nothing but great things about the Trek 2300. I think you'd be very happy with it.

I say go for the Masi! I have the 2002 Gran Corsa which is the same as the 2003 except for the paint. It is an AMAZING bike to say the least. I tested the 2300 along with various other bikes and found that the Masi fit better and the ride was better. Another factor in my purchase was that no one knew about the new breed of Masi bikes and everywhere I looked I saw another person w/ a Trek. Just my 2 pennies.

Yes, if you're really torn between which one to get, go for the Masi. If all the other factors (fit, weight, etc.) are the same for you, be different and don't get the Trek!!! :)
Masi all the way. I especially like the steatstays.
Who sells Masi anyway? There are no dealers in my area. :(
One thing to think about though...People keep saying get the Masi if the fit and everything else are all the same just because it's different and less people have it. But, and I can't say I know how Masi is, but Trek's warranty and customer service are top notch. If you have any problems, they take care of you. Can you guarantee the same with Masi? Again, just a thought...Masi may be great as well.
