Touring - 3 women riding across Argentina & Over the Andes

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My friend has been dreaming up this trip and has finally put it into motion. She and two other friends have landed in Bunious Aries and are riding to the Pacific self supported. Has anyone else made this journey?
She'll be taking pics and posting them on her blog. So far the bike bob trailer is weighing in at 70lbs loaded. lol. Should be an interesting trip and I'm wishing her well. Anyone who wants to say hello and throw her support can find her blog at:overtheandes.blogspot.com (http://overtheandes.blogspot.com)
Cheers!

I'll bookmark that blog. I want to see how their tires work out and if any of them try the Argentine Tango.

There's a short diary in Crazy Guy (http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/page/?o=rzyi&page_id=43862&v=2Q) about a Dutch guy who travelled for 2 weeks up towards Bolivia from Buenos Aires. Lots of nice photos, but he never went over the mountains.

Sounds like a good read as well. The girls have started adding pics of the trip, it should get much more interesting once their on the road.
Cheers! :)
I hope they have time to go to Villarrica in the Lake District of Chile, near Pucon. There is the Torre Suiza hostel, owned and run by 2 Swiss Round The World cyclists, Beat and Claudia.

Hi All,
The girls blog has been updated and pics are starting to flow in. The girls ended up climbing 4500 feet in 6 miles with a freekin' head wind. Sounds fun to me but they are all smiles.
