Advocacy & Safety - Cattle Guards

I feel through one woa. I go slow before I might just dismount.

These things are nasty and make a vroom/clunk car noise you can hear through out the canyon.

I've no idea what language you're speaking there, and I've no idea why this would be in Advocacy and Safety, but I gather you are having difficulty crossing cattle guards.

If the cattle guards consist of square bars, those are fine. Just point the bicycle straight, hold it straight (like when you ride on ice), and keep pedalling smoothly.

If the cattle guards are round - the big round tubes - I find it's best to get off and walk across those.

The only real danger I've seen with cattle guards in AZ is that sometime they are made of two or more sections of I-beam laid horizontally across the road and there can be a very wide gap between the ends of them that a bike tire can easily fit between. Otherwise like train tracks, proceed with caution as perpendicular as possible, no sudden moves or turns (especially when wet)
