Hello,

Currently running an Ultegra 6500 drivetrain (complete), Triple up front. After many, many, many miles of wonderful riding and climbing, I've become aware that I need to change the chainrings, cassette, and chain as they've become very worn out. So, I'm considering a taking of the opportunity to move to a compact up front and a 10-spd in the back.

Aside from the BB, Crankset, Chain, Cassette -

What will I need to change to get this working?
Will I need to change the RD?
Will I need to change the FD?
Will I need to change the shifters?

Thanks in advance for your help....

RD: No need to change.
FD: 10-speed specific double would work best, but you can probably make the 9-speed triple work okay.
Shifters: You'll need new shifters. A new right one to go from 9 to 10 speed. The left Ultegra shifters are double or triple specific (also, the ergonomics of the shifters changed, so you'll like a matching set).

Even though a 9-speed left shifter would work, the 10-speed shifters have a different shape and feel and buying both 10-speed shifters just makes good sense. Ultegra 10-speed shifters are double or triple specific.
