Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Post your time for Angeles Crest climb, from the orange gate at mile marker 26.74 to the yellow gate a half mile past Clear Creek Vista. Or, post time your time from the Mt. Hollywood / Griffith Park Dr. gate to the gate at the top. Or both. I've chosen the start and end points so as to have a neutralized areas at the top and bottom. Rolling starts. Times to be posted in minutes and seconds only. Honor system.

Categories include: Solo single time, Solo lowest aggregate time of top five postings, Group time (three or more riders).

Please include weather conditions.

Perhaps this can be a way to be competitive without being there in person. In a fun way.

My first post. AC 41:49, Low 70's slightly windy at the bottom before the ranger station and near the top before the Vista point.

Most people that I Know time themselves from the first stoplight after the Shell station to Clear Creek...

The fastest time I know of was 38 and some change minutes by Fritz B. I'll try to find the list of all the other times :)

I had much deliberation between myself. I didn't want to include the possible light at the golf course and I thought the uphill run-up would allow the body a little more acclimation. At that point there should be little obstruction to the top. These times are for 2008.

Mary and Scootcore were talking about starting a pose-off thread the other day for those like myself who usually spend more time over a cup of coffee than actual time spent riding. :D

I'm just trying to help. Everyone times themselves from that light to Clear Creek, there is a huge list of peoples time, it might make it easier on you to find people to post it up. :)

No worries. In the past 20 something years of riding up Angeles Crest and connected roads, I had never timed myself on any stretch or approach. However, after reading about many of the adventures of other riders, it got me to pondering on how to create a route that would measure the similarities or differences. I understand that many riders already have their own favored or specific routes or timed areas and well that is all well and good. But as athletes, it is good to mix it up. Be flexible. Change it up. Try something a little bit different. Don't accept what is simply because it came before. It's the new year. C'mon.

This is the internet so subtract 67 seconds from the fastest time posted so far and you'll have my time.
