My kona came with some shimano clipless with some extra platform addon on one side, how the hell do i get it off? I tried twisting it off as it was a spd cleat in it, but it wont come out. I loosened it enought but it still wont come out. Any ideas?

those platforms are for demo bikes so you can test ride them . The way my friend got 1 of his off was riding into a tree:D

Or you can go to your LBS and I'm sure they'll do it for free. I have an exact mode of your pedal, however the platforms were taken off at the bike shop by a mechanic when so I wouldn't know for sure.

i totally agree with that...fire cures all.
that and take it to your lbs. I heard its unsafe to have it on there if your riding clipless

i seriously thought of just getting a welding torch and just cutting it off. But i figure if they are easy to pull of and put on, i can just use it when im doing a quick ride on campus.
Yank it off just like you would a clipped in shoe. TO THE SIDE!

jeez, ok heres how you do it. just jam a screw driver into the cleat lock and turn, it my be pretty tight but it'll open up enough to get the plastic platform out. you may want to loosen the tension screw to make it abit easier
It's going to be hard to get off without the pedals mounted on a secure platform... such as your bike. Install the pedals first and then try twisting the plastic platforms off.

Ding, ding - we have a winner! This is the best way. It's difficult to get the proper leverage any other way.
Good luck!

they don't twist off like regualr spd cleats. The only way to do it is to take a screwdriver and pry it off like rockster said

make sure the tension is is set at its lowest and then a good pull to the side and they will come off
