I recently installed a Thomson stem on my Fuji Roubaix RC. A week or so later, I saw a Thomson stem cap on eBay for a couple of bucks and figured I buy it. The cap I purchased has a hole in the middle for a bolt, but the FSA cap that's installed now has a hollow "barrel-like" threaded (on the inside of the barrel) piece protruding down that screws into the headset. Even with a bolt, I don't see how I can attach the new cap.

I can't believe I didn't pay closer attention to the photo of the cap I was buying . . . can I make this cap work or did I just buy the wrong type of cap?

The Thomson cap is for use with standard starnuts. You have a compression plug in the steerer tube which requires its own type of cap.
