I have a year-old, relatively inexpensive hybrid (Giant Cypress, I think) that I have enjoyed very much as a first bike. However, the saddle has begun to slip forward recently, despite the fact that I have tightened the hex nut beneath the saddle. This happens quite often, especially on cobblestone or if I hit a bump without standing up. It happens almost every day.
I'm not in the market for new components right now, so I'm hoping someone can give me some handyman advice that will allow me to at least finish off the season with my current seat.
One thing I noticed was that the grooves on the bottom of the seat where it connects with the seat post are worn. I was thinking about filing them a little deeper, but since I'm not very good with tools, I wanted to get your opinion first.
Sorry for my lack of terminology. I'm still learning
Thanks,
joseph
