Glad to find this forum. I am 51 and returning to bicycling (road) to get back into shape after 13 surgeries and the forced inactivity. I am in NW Florida and work as an engineer for a general contractor on Navy construction projects. I look forwardd to learning from the members here.

Hello gcpmsame, wow, thirteen surgeries sounds like far too many! Obviously the surgeries have not affected your desire to enjoy life though.

Check out the regional forums. There are quite a few members in Florida, all of whom seem to be quite friendly :D .

Thanks for the welcome East Hill. I'll be sure to check out the regional forum. My wife and I rode with the local club in the late 70's and early 80's and loved the road rides and friendship. Now we are living out in the country and have miles of roads to enjoy.

You might want to check out the 50+ forum as well. There may be a number of members who share your enthusiasm locally.
