Track Cycling - Track fork

Hmmm...I'm looking for www.pavebikes.com because they had a VERY stiff track fork. Are any of you familiar with the site or maybe the fork? Said to weigh 700g I think(HEAVY). Seems the site no longer exists....

There are plenty of really good, really stiff track forks out there -- BT has one that isn't unreasonably priced. You can also get steel round-bladed forks or even have a tandem round-bladed fork made. But there's a point where too stiff a fork is counterproductive on the track. I certainly wouldn't want to carry around 700 grams just to get a super-stiff fork. Even on a BT or Look, the fork actually needs to have a stiffness commensurate with the rest of the frame or you can induce vibrations in the frame that affect handling or you can overstress the frame and cause breakage there. The fork is intended to have a slight amount of give, even on the track, to account for steering and banking changes.

Yeah, I was thinking kinda the same thing. Just wondered if anyone knew the site specifically as in addition to that stiff fork they had a strange selection of other parts. I have found a few references to Pave Bikes as being a custom carbon frame builder in Australia.

most generic track forks work just fine. IN fact too stiff and you can hop your wheel around in a hard torquy sprint. Look at the fork on this guys bike, its not a strong fork by anymeans.....I own one, Id know. Im pretty sure he was pretty fast too :)
