53 LEDs (http://cgi.ebay.com/53-LED-Bright-Bicycle-Torch-HEAD-Flash-LIGHT-BIKE-LAMP_W0QQitemZ170186000706QQihZ007QQcategoryZ22689QQtcZphotoQQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)?? ? Anyone have experience with this? For $10.00 shipped (U.S.). I'm tempted just to prove the adage wrong.

give it a try if you want, at worst it's a waste of $10.
from my & others experience, you do indeed nortmally get what you pay for. I would bet the light is poorly made & makes a glow of mostly unuseable light. but heck, try it out & let us know! ;)

i did have a good experience with a cheap $10 head-strap mounted Blackburn light - 2 white led's & 3 aaa's. Great utility light for use as a flashlight working on the car & such, but no good at all for biking.

Cheers

Don't bother. A friend of mine got one of those, and it burns through a set of batteries in 2 hours. And, it's still not as bright as a 3W flashlight.

Oh, also, my friend mentioned that while it might be water resistant, it's certainly not waterproof!
