Hey,

Building bike for girlfriend. Fork is lower end Marzocchi MZ Comp or Supercomp either '05, '06, or '07 - I can't really remember and the box is pretty vague. Can anyone confirm that these 2 items (or 4, depending on how you look at it) are what I need to set up v-brakes since they gave us a 2008 owner's manual with no real answer and very small, fuzzy, and gray pictures:

Why not just do it right and run a disc? It's so much easier.

I'd think this is what you'd need, maybe both. I don't know what you already have.

That's the stuff. The only catch on installation is to hold the sleeve so it doesn't rotate. You want the spring locating holes to be the same on each side.

I would love to go disc and make her spend more for the now discounted BB7s, but she isn't too keen on spending money. Wait till I convince her to buy a nicer headset.... anyways, the link you sent me seems correct in that it says brake post for M arch forks, but it is $7.50 each and the one from the link I sent, supposedly the same thing, it $4.99 each, so that gives me the naggin feeling that they aren't the same....

I just thought of this. Since this is a lower end fork, almost certainly OE, could I just walk into a LBS and ask them? Or would the forks, at this level, come with discs and be preassembled?

So that knob that is used as grip for installation, would that also be the thing that keeps the sleeve from rotating? I'd just have to make sure that those two knobs end up in the same orientation, right?
