Foo - Life in the Campo - My Costa Rican Blog

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi all,
I was encouraged by Brian to put a link over to my new Blog sometime ago. As though Brian doesn't have enough problems I am blaming him for this.
We have a lot of tree owners (people who have bought trees with us) and lots of friends. As an attempt to keep in touch, we are keeping a blog about living here and the activities on the fincas. We have lots to write about of course and I hope everyone will enjoy it.
You can see the blog in my signiture now - but for those who don't want to look at the signiture or don't know what a signiture is... Life in the Campo (http://fincaleola.com/CostaRicanLife/)
I hope you all enjoy it and let me know what you think. Be gentle, I am a newbie at blogs. ;)
Thanks all.

Very cool! I look forward to following it. :D
Very nice, stylish and easy to read... Both on the eye and your writing style.
I don't make a habit of reading any blogs other than Foo. :)

I read through some of the stories on your other website recently. Enjoyed those, so I'm sure the blog will be fun to read.

Thanks all - my plan is to write pretty much 3 to 4 times a week. I do not lack material for sure.

Wonderful! I'd been wondering why you didn't have one. Even though I don't post in mine every day (it's winter, a bit of a slack time for a wildlife blog), I have found it's great at reminding me of the really fun things I did during the summer. It's like keeping an illustrated diary :) .

The answer is very simple, I am an old geezer who didn't understand what a blog was... ;)
It is also because I have been so busy organizing everything and dealing with growth that I have barely had time to breathe - now things are getting better. Whew!
Cool, CRTD. I'll be sure to keep up on it. :)
didn't understand what a blog was...It's just a website with a dumber, media-created name.

Nice blog there CRT. However, I'm a little ticked at you for putting the pics in there.
Right now we have snow flurries and 34F and those pics look nice, warm, and tropical.
Its not fair I tell you, its not fair! ( and I'm in one of the more southern climates here...think of how some of the others probably feel!).

I can assure you that it isn't trick photography - it is nice, warm and tropical!
...with a terrible secret, of course!

I have secrets?! Wow, I would have never thought I could manage to keep anything in secret in my life. :p
It's not surprising you know not of the terrible secret. It's a secret, after all.

DanG, it isn't that one about getting old is it? I keep trying to deny it but the rumour just keeps making its rounds. :o

There are no attics in the tropics - that can't be it. If there were, it would be full of bats and boas - I kid you not.
The bats and boas should breed. FLYING SNAKES

If you could post some photos of the bats and snakes, I'd be happy :) .

I know, I'm weird.

Just for you East Hill - this big boy is 8 foot long and that picture was taken with no zoom. I didn't see him until I was 2 feet away (and someone told me to look!)

Hey Heather, that finca I am describing in the story is the one just below where you all are going to live. The two fincas are touching and by ATV it is only about 10 minutes from house to house. The river is the same size as our river so you will be able to zip down and go swimming any time.
Oh, better bring GPS - there is no way to know where you are in this finca - most you can wander around and find your way out - this one, not likely.

Very handsome!
And at least it wasn't a fer-de-lance that was that close to you! Although I imagine you probably see those more often than you would like  .

Not really, in more than 5 years I have only seen about 5 fer-de-lance, and only once alive and that was in a road.
The snakes are here, but they aren't very visible.

That's probably more frightening than when you can see them!

Just to let all the loyal readers know, there is a new one up there. Oh, the other thing, this blog is being editted by my wonderful wife if you notice that the writing appears to be better than normal. ;)
