Well, I hope to order my Christmas present today, a new 2008 Masi Gran Criterium. It’s my first new bike in probably 15 years. My last bike purchase was a Cannondale Delta V 700 (with headshock)? I started getting into spinning at my local gym about a year ago and I even teach it now. This stirred the bike bug in me once again and I’m taking the plunge. I feel like a kid in a candy store. Does anyone else get this excited when spending a couple/few grand on a new bike? :D

A new bike purchase seems to always put a smile on your face no matter what the purchase price.

So true. Although I was stressed as all get out while making the choice. There were so many choices in my price range and many of them felt good on test rides.

Before Tom gets a chance to say it again.....

"Don't ya love that new bike smell?" ;)

Seriously though. Congrats on your new steed!

I get that way waiting on new PARTS to come in.

Shoot, a New Bike and I can't sleep until It's out of the box, built, tested, fitted and ridden at least once. I then start looking it over to see what parts might be improved upon before I wear stuff out.

Yes Sir...It's a sickness!

I didn't even have to spend that much to feel like this. My Surly X-Check is the first new bike I've had in almost 18 years. Yeah, I feel 18 years younger every time I ride.

And here I thought I was crazy for not sleeping. :D

Excited about the bike? Yes. Excited about the immediate evacuation of $3,000 from my bank account? No. http://www.xs4all.nl/~ernstmul/images/msnbonus/money.gifhttp://www.forosdelweb.com/images/smilies/adios.gif

After getting inspired by the book "Younger Next Year" (which I HIGHLY recommend) I also decided to get back on the bike after 20 years. Never one to do anything half way I went out and ordered a Serotta Fierte IT. They tell me it'll take 6 weeks which is driving me crazy.

Dude, I just looked it up on their web site. Sweet ride! I’m guessing you have the available wallpaper set as your computers desktop wallpaper? :)

It just reminds me that this a male-dominated forum when your old bikes smell worse than your new bikes!!! :p
