And snowing hard (for the 10 mins it'll last). Big ol' huge flakes. I haven't seen snow in years. Yea! Woot! Woot!

I gotta go and play.

It's snowing in Georgia and not Tennessee? Is it just impossible for us to get snow now?

I find that hard to believe. Florida has GOT to be the least likely to snow, and even in the 35 or so years I lived there, it snowed (though barely) twice.

Are you sure you weren't just drunk and don't remember when it snowed?

Are you sure you weren't just drunk and don't remember when it snowed? One time in grade school, there were a few snowflakes mixed in with the rain that melted by the time they got to the ground (I could only see them from my second-floor bedroom). The last time any snow actually accumulated on the ground, though, was about 1976 or so.

Downtown Sacramento is about 25 feet above sea level, and that's after the whole city was raised in the mid-1800s to protect against flooding.

Um....if you don't count snow that doesn't accumulate, then never mind my post. It's never snowed in Florida to my knowledge then. Both times it was tiny flurries that melted almost as soon as they hit the ground.

Snowed here today too but this time of year it's normal:). I do understand the novelty, it's funny watching the recent immigrants at work the first time they see snow. enjoy it while you have it.

Nope, but the schools are closed tomorrow.

The Tom Slick tires on my commuter have lived up to their name.

Damn. That's the same system that's gonna come up this way late tonight, but when it gets here, it'll be nothin' but sleet and ice and rain. Well, allegedly accumulation of up to an inch of snow. I'll believe it when I see it. In any case, I'm headin' out to the sto' for some Jack. I already have milk and bread! :p

I've got about 2 inches on the ground and its starting to sleet.
Gonna make it interesting in the morning.
And Tom...those kind of pics are exactly why I do not live further north that GA. :D

This was last winter here, and it was the most snow I've seen in years. :(

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v214/lamplightsg/IMG_9241small.jpg

I think it was maybe 1.5 inches, tops. When I was young it wasn't at all uncommon for us to get 4 to 6 inches of snow at least once or twice a year. But not anymore.

+1 I love where I live. Great springs and falls. Great long summers to which I'm well accumstomed. Great short winters which offer occasional snow of several inches for play, but usually just some sleet/rain, all very short-lived.

Heh. When I want snow in winter, I'll go to the Austrian Alps. :D

Hey! You're stealing our snow! Give it back, please?

It's so cold without it! :p

I'd normally say, "Take it back, Shad," but I did see the snowscrapers out fuelin' up tonight whilst I was out on my Jack mission (dammit, my local likker sto' was outta Jack again, so I ended up with CatDaddy). Don't see those guys out fuelin' up unless we're expecting some accumulation (all of one inch, mind you).

Personally, I can do without the severe winter (and summer storm) weather that knocks out power. I can never find such "romantic" again.... :o

The 750ml Jack was out again. Had to get a 750ml of CatDaddy instead. Not bad, mind ya, but when one has a mindset for Jack.... :o

:(

Must be somethin' comin'. They're startin' to talk it up on the local country station (the local canary).

Well I'm in North Florida and the last time in snowed and hung out for a while, 3 days or so, it was Christmas 1989. You can keep that evil white stuff.

It snowed here (Cheraw, SC) for 20 minutes before turning to sleet.
