I've been gone a couple of days, and noticed that P&R is not
on my forum list. Is this part of the changeover?

Will I eventually be able to log on?

Yes, it might take a little bit. Some have access and some don't yet. Brian's working on it.

This was posted in P & R under the thread of the new rules that it occur at this time - I would point you to the thread, but...

Helmet Head

That thread seemed to be mostly ankle biting, so I did not follow it once I confirmed I was on the list.

Brian is working on the list now. It'll be back soon :D

why has my account been frozen? I tried to post a response in religion and politics and was unable to do so. How can this be rectified? Thank you

If there is ever an argument where a member accuses another member of lacking in reading comprehension, I'm checking this post to see what comments have been made.

I'm just sayin'...

Oh, a special thanks to East Hill for helping keep track of that list.

So are you intentionally not giving me access despite my signing the agreement? Or is it just not ready yet?

I just logged out and logged back in. No dice. Still can't see the P&R forum, and get the same message when I try to get there directly by the URL in the OP.

Is it too much to ask whether I'm being intentionally blocked or if this is an inadvertent glitch?

Well, either both of you are bad boys, or you were inadvertently missed. I know you were both on the list. My guess is missed inadvertently :) .

Send a PM to Brian, or wait for him to wander through here a bit later.

Edit: Ha! Beat me to it :D .

Yeah, me too! I can't post to the Pand R. I'M BEING OPPRESSED, I'M BEING OPPRESSED!

I pay good money to be on this forum! Alright, I guess I don't pay anything for the privilege of using BF, do I? Its free, isn't it. Hmm, I guess I don't have much of a complaint, do I?

I know what it is! BF has singled out the all important SAN RENSHO to f@ck with! No, I guess thats not true either, I'm sure the hardworking admins have lots better things to do that mess with me.

OK, I apologize. Please, please get it fixed, I'm Jonesing here, and thanks.

I just logged out and back in and still no P&R forum.

I realize you don't owe us anything, but common courtesy suggests you might give us a clue as to what is going on. In particular, do you understand why we don't have access, or are you still trying to figure that out?

Should we keep logging out and back in to try it again, or wait until you tell us to try it?

Thanks,
HH

You must have missed that list of 100+ names, in the thread where it was explained when P&R would be closed, and that Donna and I would split the duties of updating the access for each member.

Thank you for your patience.

I did not miss the list; I'm on it. But I did not read every post in that thread, which was a lot of ankle-biting. I did read the OP, and if there was anything in there about this closing or approximately how long the process of updating access would take, I missed it.

Thank you for your patience.
I'm trying to be patient, but it would be a lot easier if we had a clue as to whether it was going to be a few more minutes, hours, days or what?

And are you actually doing the access updates with manual keystrokes? I would think you should be able to upload the file all at once, or bulk edit it to convert it to a series of SQL statements or something.

They are certainly within their rights to do so.
It's heartening to see that you understand how it works too.

It should be noted the Kucinich sued when he was excluded from the debates, but Ron Paul did not.
Liberty is about respecting the rights of others, even when you disagree with decisions and actions that others take within those rights, even when you are adversely affected or even harmed by those decisions and actions (but your rights are not violated), as much as it is about anything. It's about objectively understanding and respecting what "it's your call" means, and when it applies.

Brian, it's your call as to whether I get back into P&R. I understand and respect that.

Nobody has a right to be in a debate sponsored by a private network. Not Hillary, Obama, McCain, Romney or Giuliani, unless the owner of the network (or his agent) grants that right (which is recoverable at any time). I have no right to post here, except to the extent that the owners of this forum (and their agents) allow me to do so. So Kucinich's rights were not violated when he was not allowed in the Vegas debates. My rights are not violated if I'm not allowed access. That's libertarianism in a nutshell, and it beats all the alternatives.

select * from db_users_that_whine...

We already mentioned that it's a manual process. There is no way to select the users that should have access with an SQL statement.

P.S., Do these "hidden" P&R folk actually ride bikes (or, does that cause global warming)?

Didn't you know we just had a thread about the P & R forum bicycle riding habits ;) ?
